There are currently several external exams that the school children can appear for right from std I to std X. Some schools do encourage the children to appear for these exams and help in the required procedure. Some other schools may not even send this information out to their students in which case, the parents need to be aware of the list of exams and take the necessary efforts. The parents should then approach their school authorities or the respective organisations conducting the exam or Zilla Parishad (in case of State Scholarship Exam).
Below is the comprehensive list of available exams in Maharashtra State. It may not be exhaustive but it does cover most standard exams and only focusses on academics. All in all, it might seem overwwhelming for a parent. The obvious question then arises "Should I burden my child with these exams"? The key is, as a parent "You should be aware of what all exams is my child eligible to appear for and then judiciously choose the right one for your child. If you need any guidance, I would be glad to assist you.
